Elvis Frappe

Once upon a time (like, six months ago), I was a Starbucks fiend, an addict.  In high school I used to love getting frappuccinos, every day after school.  But lately I’ve been tightening up my budget and my Starbs trips are limited to social sojourns.  The other day, though, I thought it might be fun to make a frap run before I went babysitting – until I thought to check the sugar content in a small soy frap.  Let’s just say consuming 39 grams of refined sugar in a frozen beverage I payed too much money for is currently not on my list of “things to do.”

So of course, I had to take matters into my own hands and whip up a fantastic frosty coffee beverage of my own.

  • 1 cup brewed coffee
  • 3/4 cup ice
  • 1/3 frozen banana
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
it’s not a blurry picture, it’s the cold condensed inside the bullet!

Place all ingredients a blender and pulse for about 30 seconds, until well-combined but still frosty.  Drink up!
